Seriously, you need a photo file manager like Adobe Bridge or if you don’t have their products you can try ACDSee Photo manager. The problem you will have archiving thousands of images is categorization, searching, etc so you need this type of tool to make the job much easier.
what I do first is pick best photo’s then try to edit in on CS3
afterwards upload in on net and add to my social networking account
such as Facebook
I am not a photogenic, so I usually edit all my bad pics and turn them in to the best ones

I generally collect and collate it in my personal PC. I categories them and stores them based on events so that retrieval is easier. Once every month I upload all photos to Picasa 3 web album using smart client Photo viewer. It is easy to upload and it is very fast. All you require to import into this tool once done that upload to web through it.
