Hi, i have always used 16px X 16px images for favicons but i have seen a lot of sites lately (google) using 32px X 32px
What is the correct size to use, are there pros and cons to both sizes, thanks in advance...

I've always used 16x16, I could be wrong but maybe the 32x32 is used for the apple device fav icons?

There is a way of putting the different size in to one file I think. I only have use of an old version of Photoshop though, which doesn't have that option

I believe it's fine to use 32 x 32 px for a favicon. They can even be 48×48 px, or 64×64 px. Since they get reduced to 16 x 16, I tend to make them that size, though.
Those tend to be larger, and I believe they need to be at least 57 x 57 px. Usually a better choice for icons like that is around 114×114 px.
