Very good article and I agree with everything you said. I have been teaching coding to my 5 year old daughter for a while and I have written a few blog posts at http://ifgirlthencode.blogspot.com about what we have done. And I also have a Resources page that has some links to things we have liked or found interesting, if anybody else wants some inspiration or just somewhere to start.
