I manage a site, www.rcda.org and we want to be able to pull an RSS news feed from the Catholic News Service website and add it to a page on the site.
The RSS Feed: http://www.catholicnews.com/rss/cns-top-story.xml
Example of what I’m trying to duplicate: http://www.nyscatholic.org/catholic-news/ Half way down the page CNS Top Stories.
What I can’t figure out how to do is parse the feed and display it on my site. I googled it and found many postings on how to add the feed to SharePoint, wordpress, Wix, etc. all of these sites come with some widget/webpart that reads the feed and displays it. What I want to know is how add a feed reader to my site which is hand coded and does not have a feed reader.
