After moving to new host it shows the wrong page for homepage

I just moved a WP site (according to the codex instructions).
It used to be set with static homepage that was showing one of the pages.

After the move the homepage shows just the latest post, and there is no way you can see the static page.

I tried re-saving “Front page displays” in Settings>Reading but whatever i choose there it always shows the same post on the homepage. This option just doesn’t work anymore.

Any ideas?

Try deleting the .htaccess file and reset it by updating the permalinks stucture under settings. I’ve seen that cause wonky things before.

You may also try re-copying the database over.
