Hi there everyone,
I had an idea for a custom domain for a site I'm building which would use the .al TLD. I looked on 101domain.com and it seems that the domain is $75 dollars and the best I can understand, they also state that I must purchase a "Trustee/Proxy Service" for another $50, bringing the grand total to a whopping $125 for nothing more than a cute domain.
So my questions:
1) Do I need the trustee/proxy service?
2) can I even use the domain for a US-based non-commercial site?
3) Might I be able to get this domain elsewhere more cheaply?
Thanks for your time!

Too obscure of a question?

You can avoid the Trustee fee if your business has a physical presence in Albania. All Albanian web sites are required to have someone in Albania who is responsible for the site so if you are not there yourself then you need to pay for a trustee located there to act as your representative.

Are you from Albania or just want to use .al ? It shouldn't cost that much...
