Batch export groups, not layers?

I have a PSD that has lots of layers arranged into groups. Each group comprises a complete image. (In other words, there are lots of images in the PSD, and each image has lots of layers)

If I batch export layers, it does ALL of the components of each image. I cant use the pieces separately, and need to get each group into an image of its own (not each separate layer into an image)

Is there a way to batch export the GROUPS, instead of each individual layer inside them?

(difficult to explain clearly, so have attached a diagram)

I’m not really sure, but if all else fails, duplicate the document and delete the groups you don’t want.

Thanks for your reply Ralph.

I have managed to work it out, and in case anyone else is trying to do this - the way I got it to work was to merge the layers for each group, and then to run the script for batch export. This produced the grouped images.

Probably not the ideal way to get the result - quite a bit of clicking involved, but a lot quicker than doing the whole thing manually - which is what I wanted to avoid.
