Best anti-virus

There is no best anti-virus; they all are the same.

For me avast is the best. AvG is also good but I would recommend avast.

According to my opinion Avira antivirus is best.

I use the antivirus from PCtools.com. Works for me for now.

Kaspersky is a good antivirus software but the computer will run like crap (high CPU and HDD load)
There’s a new version of Avira that seems to be very promising, I found a review at http://bstdownload.com/reviews/avira-premium-security-suite-10/

AVG Anti-Virus is fully armed to protect your computer from threats from a number of angles.

I use AVG and Avast both are the free version as i am a tight wad when it comes to spending.

Panda Antivirus Pro combines antivirus, antispyware, antiphishing and a firewall with its highly touted behavior-based TruPrevent Technology.

I’m using AVG now and I think it is better than my Mcafee antivirus software. My system usually hangs when Mcafee is running. It rarely hangs now with AVG as the antivirus software.

Not sure whats best but I know Free AVG is crap.

Use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which protects your computer in real time against viruses, spyware, trojans, worms, blocks malicious web sites and IP addresses. I consider it the most effective security software which scans for malware and viruses.

I am using Norton Antivirus which is best ever.

AVG is pretty good

This is a pretty common question (if you want reasoning for the choice then just look back over previous threads) but I go with Avira, it’s detection engine (based or shared with Kaspersky) is regularly ranked one of the best on the market. And their free product is a pretty decent solution too.

Which antivirus are you using?
Best Antivirus

I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials if you want a free solution, but [url=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WIYL9Q/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000WIUZLE&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0CA43A12XTKZGH6Q1K91]Symantec Endpoint Protection if you have $20 for a good commercial solution. You won’t even know it’s there, until you run into some malware that is.

Hands down Avast home edition . It removed viruses which AVG couldn’t . MS Security essentials are good too .

You could also look at the detection rates for each of the program. Some work better than others.
