We all know that companies like getty are coming after everyone for damages for using images without paying. Are there any websites out there with “true” free to use images? If so, what are your favorites?
What about http://www.sxc.hu? I’ve heard about it before, but never used it. Seems they were recently taken over by Getty. 
Hope they don’t assimilate them.
http://www.activefreestuff.com/2p1.htm has a list of sites that have free graphics.
Try to look for those with royalty free in their description, as this means that you are free to do whatever you want with it =)

dreamstime and shutterstock and even istock do free images - but dreamstime have thousands of them; not the best ones but you will find something you need there though.
