I'm designing logos for companies in U.S.A, i need to know which software is very much suited for this,

You usually need a vector-based program for logos, even if you then dress them up in Photoshop. So Illustrator is a good choice.

yeah i agree and i like illustrator and photoshop because the shortcuts are familiar

Illustrator, nothing else. I tried a demo of Corel Draw a long time ago, I use to be a Coral Draw pro when I was young, nothing to show for it other then I was extremely good at the program. I stopped using it and years later went to Illustrator.

Logos, even if text-based, are ultimately graphics and graphics software is the right tool for the job.

I love Adobe Illustrator but you can use XARA 3D for more smooth and realistic 3d effects.
