Blending Two Images Together

Hello, I am stuck on page 66 of Photoshop CS6 Unlocked.

A bit of a ‘doh’ moment.

I am trying to blend two images together and it asks me to arrange my photoshop document so that one image overlaps the other - I have one image open but cannot work out how to put a second image on the document.

Quite a dumb question I expect - please help!

hmmm.
How are yo getting the second image?

For example, if you were to open two (image) documents, you could fo to one document and SELECT ALL ( command-A) then COPY, go tot the OTHER DOCUMENT and PASTE (command -V) that will create a NEW LAYER with the copied image in it.
