Blocking a competitor by using htaccess?

I know how to block a single IP address by using “deny from” in the htaccess. However, how would I block an entire set of IP addresses that a competitor uses? Because each employee in their office would have their own IP address, right?

In my opinion you’re fighting a losing battle, for all you competitor will have to do is either spoof an ip address or simply go to a different network. You also risk slightly blocking a legit client/customer.What’s that saying keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. :wink:
