At this site I am trying to develop, Paul Squillace: Design, Devleop, Deploy!, the body element that I set up originally does not seem to want to change when I look at it in Firebug.
The local style.css file has this for a body
but when I use firebug on 2 different machines, the body shows this
background: url("../images/bg.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
whcih is an older one I was using.
I have refreshed and cleard my cashe a few times and used 2 different machines.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for any help or adivce on this,
When you use shorthand, Firebug "fills in" the default values for the things you haven't explicitly specified. So, "scroll" is the default value for background-attachment, "0 0" is the default for background-position, and "transparent" is the default for background-color. You haven't specified any values for those attributes, so Firebug is telling you that the defaults apply, and is showing you what those defaults are.
Ahh.... Thanks for that explaination. That helped me a ton to understand what was going on.
I thought I was going bonkers there for a min.
Well, that's still a possibility that we can't definitively rule out.
Ha ha Ha.... what a card!!!
