My question is how to login to my root or how can I edit system files?
I asked my ex system admin to do indirect root login and he did with:
Old root:
root Password: xxxxxxx1
New user:
radmin Password: yyyyyyyy2
Port: 5124
When I logined with WinSCP with sFTP or PuTTy for radmin with port: 22, I can’t edit any system files although I can view them!
When I tried to login with ROOT account, I received error:
PuTTY: Network Error! Connection refused.
sFTP: The server rejected SFTP connection, but it listens for FTP connections.Did you want to use FTP protocol instead of SFTP? Prefer using encryption.
I installed Linux Centos Webuzo panel with lighttp. I have another set of username and password to login to Webuzo:
alouty1 Password: zzzzzzz3
After login to Webuzo, I can change my root password and it said “You have changed your password for user ROOT”. Doing this will not affect login of radmin account.
I can FTP with this alouty1 account with port: 21 and view all files inside public_html.
UPDATE:
I login to radmin with PUTTY and su root and it become root@server radmin. Guess I login to root? So I can’t edit directly system file with WinSCP anymore?
