Chess articles

Regards to all forum participants,

Personally I need good chess articles for my future project. Many of them should be dedicated to serious chess players, from master candidates to international Masters, eventually grandmasters(not necessarily).

The articles should be valuable and benefit potential visitors. They shouldn’t be news related or actual event articles.I can handle it myself. So they should be related to strategy, tactic, particular openings, pawn structure, advanced combination, endings.

To be honest I doubt that any freelancer, who is unfamiliar with chess would write something that will fit my needs without much researching and spending a lot of time.I hope I am wrong.

Actually I would like you to suggest me where to find writers like that.Grandmaster and professional chess writers are undoubtedly the best solution, but my budget is somehow limited.I already contacted one of them and prices are too unrealistic I think.

How do you estimate that I should pay maximally to a professional chess writers for one article? It is important to me to know that.

I find all over the internet people write on all subject for 5-10$ per article. What can I expect from that?

Anyway I am open to all options even for not so professional chess writing, because of my limiting budget.

I have to agree with DCrux, if you can’t afford the prices (due to limited cashflow) for the specific timeframe you have, then you’re essentially screwed. Those who have the knowledge you desire (at a specialist level) aren’t going to be pawning (pun not intended) their skills off at basement rates and the only thing you’ll get from those $20 a piece writers are the kind of gutter trash reworked (possibly plagurised) material or very basic limited fluff that won’t really meet what you’re after. Perhaps you could find yourself a couple of professional chess players and hire them to write all of the content (on the basis that they would get a set percentage of the businesses future earnings) but unless their feeling charitable, you’ll need to pay the going rate for that professional skill-set and insight (whatever that may be).

Grandmaster level writing is an expert issue. You will pay realistically. What you want to pay may not be realistic.

Your budget does not dictate what market prices are. The market dictates what your budget should be.

Pay and find out. They will not be grandmaster level articles. They will be generic scrapes of basics, just like all the other five dollar articles. Anyone who wants a site to rival yours can have one for a few bucks within days after you start yours.

Anyway I am open to all options…

No, you are not. Or there wouldn’t be a budget problem – you would already have your articles and therefore have no need to post here.

We need a page on what budgets really are.

…A budget is not what you prefer to pay.

…Budgets are set through research. They are not picked out of thin air with little to no knowledge of prices or value.

…Various laws of Physics and mathematics are fixed. And we still manage to modify them upon deeper investigation and discovery. Budgets are infinitely malleable.

…Just about everything currently out of your price range can become affordable through budgeting. You set aside an amount until it becomes affordable, you buy. Or you find another income source. Or you sell something. Then you buy. Simple.

…Budgets are made by humans. Budget can and are changed all the time – every day. The word budget does not in any way shape or form mean the budgeter does not have any more money to spend. In fact, the amount they tell you may only be a fraction of what the company has already budgeted for the very purpose you’re discussing – they just won’t tell you that at the beginning.

Most of the people who have cars don’t have the cash sitting in their pocket to buy a car …yet they still drive. Figure that out, and you’ll be on the way to discovering what the word budget actually means.
