Create a message board?

I’m trying to follow this tutorial

to create a simple message board
Installed in on my localserver, but got

when I tried to open it up, what does that mean/
(Is there a better tutorial out there ?)

Oh and the tutorial doesn’t use backtick, is that ok? What is the point of the `backtick {key to the left of the 1 )
