CSS slider design breaks in IE6

I want to use this slider:

It seems to work fine in most browsers, but in IE7 it loses some styling. (thumbnails mis-aligned) and in IE6 it looks very different (doesn’t load background image, alignment issues) Anyone able to test this slider who would know how to resolve these issues, please let me know if it can be modified to work in these older browsers. I posted an earlier thread linking to my implementation of the slider, and it was never resolved , so I figured I would post the link to the original code, in case anything got messed up when I customized the CSS. The original slider appears to be exhibiting the same problems as my implementation.
