Do porn affiliates make money?

You can make money as an affiliate in any industry as long as you know what you are doing. That being said adult market happens to be the largest $$$ category online!

Thanks for that.

Puts me off souvlakies a bit. You never know where the meat has been.

Here’s an interesting view, which for all I know is a spoof site run by rampant Christians trying to turn us all off a bit of fun: http://www.bloggerheads.com/porn_report.asp

"So, here we are at the end of the report. Now you know why I don’t bother selling porn, despite being able to get top results for core search queries. It’s not only economically unsustainable; it has a bad effect on your karma.

If you’ve just rolled you eyes at that, then there’s probably nothing I can say to convince you, and I’m sorry about that. In fact, if you’re that determined to make money from porn, then this report wouldn’t stop you if it were 200 pages long and included proof that doing so gives you cancer."

It fits in with my impression that it’s not a stream of gold because, if it was, the people who owned that stream wouldn’t be offering to share it with anyone on the internet.

You’re in a bit of a different situation. You’re not selling porn, you’re selling real life sex.

In your case, some pics and vids of you would help sell because a guy’s fantasy can become a reality.

I’ve personally seen people that make $5,000/month on the mainstream side of the net put the same amount of effort into an adult site and make $75,000/month.

I am not looking to get banned. The content on that site is NSFW. I personally made $480 yesterday using Adult Action Cash, which pays up to $5.25 per free email registration (limited access) or $40 per signup (credit card w/ full access). It only took 3k uniques (not SE) to landing page and about 600 uniques to join page. Are you in the porn biz? If not you shouldn’t make comments like that without any factual proof. And why would I say “proved me wrong”?

exactly, and sometimes its the other way around.

I’ve done porn, works extremely well. Pays good $$$$ and I’d say its the best biz to be in right now

It happens, Sometime primary term plus secondary get more searches. Here is an example:

482967 ***** enlargement
390581 *****

Many men like to search for PE instead of P itself. Its natural.

you are wrong.

If you’re going to say someone is wrong, it’s generally best to back up your claim is all I’m saying.

From various threads on those boards…

Those are very good stats and like I said, a 1:150 conversion rate is very good.

I mean the conversion rate from the gallery. If the gallery gets 5000 hits and sends 2% of those surfers to the pay site, the pay site would have to convert at 1:100 in order for the gallery to convert at 1:5000.

Galleries are listed on The Hun every day that get 100,000 hits and only make 2 sales. That would be a conversion rate of 1:50,000.

I have had about 60,000 (1,000,000 raw) unique hit’s spread across about 10 galleries. And only 1 trial sale.

got ratios from 1:300 - 1:4000

Not getting a sale in 300 clicks is pretty normal sometimes, depending on your traffic.

I don’t promote Twistys but a ball park ratio would be 1:500

You’d be much better off building yourself some simple webcam sites and promoting iFriends. I convert at an average of around 1:200.

I have other pages converting at 1:1000 which is not very good. Many people use 1:500 as a target.

or myself one in five hundred would be great,as im sure most people would love that ratio.but it greatly depends on were the traffic is coming from

I tried to screen the comments above by ensuring that the people who made them had a clue as to what they were saying but it’s up to all of you to decide.

As I stated the conversion rates for porn are generally a lot less than that you would expect from a B2C business. Luckily the sheer volume of porn traffic can make up for it. My point still stands.

My first year I was getting way less than 1%. But I found that the key is to have unique quality content that is not out there yet. It’s hard to find. I think it’s just like a dropshipper, they are hard to find, and people do not share them. Same thing in porn. Find a business that you can buy unique quality content and get your site out there fast. Bigger sites will accept and list your links more often when you have unique content. Once I figured out that buying unique quality content was better, my conversion went way up. Look for the small photo studios that are new or not well known. This way, not as many webmaster will be paying for the same content.

Other option is to pay for exclusive content and open your own membership site and pay affiliates to advertise your site. But that is a different beast all together.

There is no money in adult… trust me.

Those quotes you used are talking about galleries from TGP/MGP traffic which is less productive since the losers are sent 60-80% of the time to the actual gallery. Check dansmovies.com (NSFW) for instances. The first couple of clicks goes to another site and not the gallery. This pisses of the surfer thus them not buying a membership. Sites like thehun.com (NSFW) are better because all clicks go to the gallery. Porn blogs is the fad in porn. You make a lot of money without a lot of traffic. Instead of skimming gfy.com you might want to do some actual research. I have been a member of that board and porn for the last 2 years. There always going to be people that complain about their site not making money even in mainstream

BTW, some of those ratios like 1:200 - 1:500 pay $25 - $40 (pay per sign up) per paid members. Some pay $14.95 - $19.95 each month (revshare) as long as the purchaser is still a member. After a while that adds up to big bucks. Also, some webcam sponsors pay $20 - $100 depending on your volume for FREE sign ups (credit cards are required to prevent fraud. Check out clickcash.com and wm.mtree.com. There are also a lot of tutorial sites like teamclickcash.com that will easily help you earn money. Most of these sites pay weekly also.

Guys, some advice here would be most helpful. I’ve been running affiliate sites for years now, and am very interested in making the jump into adult sites. What’s the startup procedure?

I’ve read many threads on gfy, and have seen loads of sites offering content/galleries and 60/40 splits on sign ups - but how does one start?

You need a website to apply to these programs, but your website(s) would be galleries supplied by them. I’m thinking the process is:

Get a domain

Build a site with dummy content

Apply, get accepted and populate site with real content

I just want to trial this first off - can anyone recommend a good, trustworthy site to begin with that supplies free content? I have a plan for promotion as I have a number of adult styled sites with high traffic that could begin pushing a proper adult site immediately.

Thanks in advance!

The site I started off with did not need an established website. Try adultplayersclub. They have some decent content to start off with as well as premade galleries to practice with. But you will not get apporved in linklists with premade galleries, you will have to make them yourself. Good luck.

by linklists, do you mean sites that list adult sites? I’m not too worried about that as I have the means to promote already. So long as I can get acceptance to a scheme, and some content I’ll be happy - and off and rolling. Devising my own galleries would be a massive leap, one the wife would not approve of!

another related question is hosting. I currently use a dedicated server, but my Ts&Cs dictate no pornographic images - even though I manage the server myself. Gutted.

Any good, cheap webhosts for adult content? Preferably somthing that would allow me to host numerous sites as my dedicated server does.
