Does a slider at top of page create duplicant content?

Hey guys, first of all thanks for your help with this. I am building a new site using a Wordpress theme that has a slider at the top.

The slider contains the same news as the news below it and acts like a spotlight for the most recent news to draw people to it.

However, considering that the news is also listed right below it as well, would that be considered duplicant content?

You can see what I am talking about here:

Thanks for your help as always!

It is debatable whether or not search bots can deal with JavaScript, but if they can’t they’ll see

<div class="loading-text">Loading...</div>

Hardly duplicate content.

If the slider is duplicating news items that may appear below it as well that begs the question of how useful the slider will be to your visitors…

Hi pals.

Duplicate links or references to single pages where the full content is displayed can never be duplicate content, since this concept refers to content within or across domains, that is to say in different pages within the same domain, which could be a problem according to the Google quality guidelines.

There is no duplicate content in a single page.

In this case, we would be talking about keyword stuffing, if so and although it wasn’t your intention.
