I’m looking for a donation goal counter, much like this one. Having a Joomla plugin would be great, but not necessary.
If I were tasked with this project and we were going to be running a long running or numerous donation campaigns, I’d use CiviCRM on the backend to manage my data collection, event management and donation management. It is built in three general flavours to plugin to Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal. It has a steep learning curve but it is definitely a good tool to have when managing a lot of small information packets like donations, contacts & events.
This is for an animal non-profit. I’m not sure how CiviCRM would work for that.
Why not? It was designed for non-profits primarily. It would become the backbone of your contact, donor and donation management and you would draw the data from CiviCRM and into Joomla for rendering. It’s not a plugin widget, it’s more of a non-profit based contact and donor management tool.
