Elgg vs ImpressCMS vs Community Builder

Hi,

First of all, I don’t want to start a flame here. I’m planning to set up a social site, and I’m reviewing different products. After some selection, I found these three to be very interesting:

  • Elgg
  • ImpressCMS + Social network module
  • Joomla! + Community Builder

Probably there’s no “best” between them, but I would like to know different opinions about the stronger points and weaknesses of each one, or if you think there are better options.

My opinion is that you should Google for reviews of all three and decide which will work best for your budget and your purposes. It’s probably true that few, if any, have experience with the combinations you mention.
