If someone else wrote it then no, you can’t use it. Copyright applies until 50 years after the author’s death (or until 50 years after publication, if the author is unknown), regardless of what format or medium it was published in. It is illegal to use someone else’s content without their permission, and neither Google nor Copyscape coming up blank gives you the right to break that.
