I’m after doing something like this
A resizable background image that fades in on initial load…
I’ve found plenty of background image re-size scripts but none that fade in the initial image…
Any help would be greatly appreciated…?

Using CSS to achieve the fade do you mean?
Not the greatest at JS need tutorials these days 
css opacity is more-or-less cross browser, look in to that.
