I’ve got a GTX 480 which I think my have partly failed or burnout. I know it’s not a problem with Windows as I used the restore program to restore it to its “factory settings”.
When it boots, once it gets to the windows login screen it’s blue-screening with something like “Attempt to reset display driver and recover from timeout”. When it’s running in a really low resolution mode, like in Safe Mode it doesn’t blue screen.
I’m going to have a look inside the case of the PC in-case there’s a build up of dust but I suspect the damage has already been done. Is it most likely a hardware failure?
