HELP! Error: Could not connect to MySQL server!

Hi Folks,
I have a dilemna, I have done something in phpMyAdmin and as a result locked myself out of MySQL on my local server.

Can anyone please help me restore my access?

Any help appreciated.

Have you any users remaining with rights to alter privileges?

I ditched the old MAMP and downloaded a fresh version and re-installed.

Now I will be VERY careful in future.
