and possibly a CAPTCHA to help prevent too many spam registration attempts - for example http://www.dfactory.eu/plugins/math-captcha/ or if you only want those with JavaScript enabled to be able to register - http://blog.fili.nl/wordpress-anti-captcha-plugin/
