I’m looking for a tutorial that breaks down the essential know how with regards to building a horizontal nav with drop downs e.g. similar to this one featured here - http://www.sandersonweatherall.co.uk/ (This is too complex for me). Now I’m only after the basics but it need to be pure css please.

There are a lot of tutorials out there for CSS dropdowns.
One which I found to be very helpfull in the past is the Suckerfish.

However, the menu you link to is more of a mega menu.
