How can we get JWplayer to work without black bars?

Shoot your video at the right size. Or re-edit and crop it to the desired aspect ratio. The black bars are there for a reason.
I guess it would be nice if there was a better looking “matte”. My television screen does the same thing for “wide view”. Hmmmm, entrepreneur potential?
Lots of channels have started to take advantage of the extra advertising space they have. AMC comes to mind. ESPN also does a great job with masking it effectively. I really love CNBC’s approach as well where CNBC HD is just the old 4x3 CNBC standard def with lots of extra data on the screen.
