Sorry, but your question is too generic. What type of business content were you trying to write? Who is your audience (location, age group, gender, etc.)? Were you writing about products or services? Was it a press release, web page, or another type of content?
What I don't understand is that if your team leader didn't like your content, why didn't you discuss your problem with your team leader? You can't write for a client or an employer if you don't know what it is they expect you to deliver.

The biggest thing in my opinion is it has to carry the character of your company, grammatically correct, and on point. Then again, that's just what I would like to read.
