I need to use animated GIF in an HTML email. Is there a standard number of frames? What's too many?
The fewer the better! Ones I've used generally have 4 or 5 frames for simple repetitve animations. Restricting the colours can help kep the file size down too.
Just out of interest, why do you want to use an animated GIF in an email? The vast majority of web pages ditched them years ago when "designers" realised that users were endlessly annoyed and/or distracted by them.
Not sure if you were asking me or the previous person, but I don't use animated GIFs in emails. I was just commenting on them for general use.
