How much should I offer to buy my name's domain?

Hi all,

Recently I sent an email to the owner of the domain which holds my “FirstNameLastName”.com and wrote this:

Hi _____,

Am interested in the domain - “FirstNameLastName”.com.

Would you be open to selling it?

If so, pls let me know how much you’re like to sell it for?

Either way, appreciate a reply.

Within a day, he wrote back saying …

He’s just hedging to see how badly you want it. Don’t look too desperate. He doesn’t have a good chance of selling such a specific domain, so maybe offer $50 or something. If he says it’s worth a lot more than that, just say you’ll get a .net address or something and wish him well selling it. He might weaken then. (That approach has worked for me.) Remember that he’s just being greedy, whatever happens. This is an industry of pure greed and nothing else.

Yes, dont sound as if you really need it.

Tell that its your first and last name and you just wanted to create a site.

as always you have the option to get a .net or any other extension.

Start with $30 and finally but at $50.

He wont get $1000 by selling the domain anyways unless you are a big shot.
