I use jquery autocomplete to populate an input box. On mobile, the virtual keyboard appears as expected. It works fine until the selection is made.
At that point I want the keypad to close so the user can get to the other fields. But it doesn’t. The only way to close it is to use the return/enter key, but that submits the form the input belongs to.
I can capture the selection event - I just can’t figure out how to force the keypad to disappear when it happens.
I have tried changing focus to a non-editable element
$('#otherelement').Focus();
when selection is made, but that doesn’t do it.
Have also tried using
document.activeElement.blur()
but I’m trying it on a windows phone, and I’ve read that doesn’t work anyway.
Any advice appreciated.
