Panda, and Penquin even more so, created obstacles to blackhat and questionable “whitehat” manipulation e.g. purchased links, spinning article submission. The sites that profited, are the sites that offer high quality content.
The solution for sites “hit” by Panda, Penguin and almost surely the next major update(s), is to provide more and better quality content. The days of pushing a site to #1 by using link farms, blog farms and similar tricks, are over.
And so they should be.
