Well besides from not sharing your personal logins and accepting only friends whom you know, the next best thing to do in order to keep your facebook account safe is also try their “https” and avoiding the use of 3rd party apps…
Always bookmark the facebook homepage, and always click on that. Make sure it always says https://www.facebook.com in your browser. Try not to connect to too many sites which want your Facebook details. Some sites like to use Facebook connect, which is fine, but always be wary of the ones wanting to view your profile and have access to your friends list etc;.

If you want to keep your Facebook account safe, just apply a better password to the account. You can use a password with characters, numbers and letters, but don’t forget to write it down as well, so you can remember it if you forget it.
There are some privacy settings there we should do some settings and we often and often should change the passwords,we should always logout while closing the profile.
You just have to set up your account privacy and security setting. Logged in your Facebook account and go to account setting: their in left you will see a security option click on it and few options will appear on screen. Now set your security as per your desire

Always check whether u are on Secure Connection or not and Put Notifications on for your Mobile Phone. If you feel someone logged into your account, immediately Change your Password using ur Primary Email

Pick a strong password and use a combination of atleast six numbers, letters, and punctuation marks like # or % etc. And make sure your email accounts are secure and after using of your facebook account log out of facebook when you use a computer you share with other people.
