Hi, I have a website where the file names appear in the address: mydomain.com/about.php etc… I’ld like to clean them up a bit so they appear as mydomain.com/about etc… How would I do this please?

Take a look at this.
The first example on the second page should be similar to what you are after. This should give you a good grap on mod_rewrite.
