I just finished writing the html/css for a site that I wrote for an acquaintance who has no idea about html and tags whatsoever. I'm planning on just having him use .php files he can write the content on, save then upload to his webserver. I remember a friend of mine did this for me back when I was only beginning html/css.
I was wondering if anyone knew the term (or the method) of when you use 1 .html file which is used as the template for the design only but all the content is actually in the .php file(s).

Common interchangeable terminology is wrapper and layout though surely others exist that I just can't recall at this time. I prefer layout myself.
