Html xmlns

I just noticed this in a document above the <head> tag i am working on.

<html xmlns=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>

I have no idea what it is so presumed that Dreamweaver added it automatically when i created a new HTML5 page. I then tried to create a new HTML5 page but this line was not inserted so im just trying to figure out if it is needed. I am not using any XML so i think its probably ok to just delete it. Anyone know what it is for exactly?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, it’s not needed.

Thanks!
