Internet Connection icon on Desktop

How do I place my internet connection icon on my Desktop ?
(I’m using Windows 7 Professional)

I know how to do this with XP but can’t seem to find out how to do this on Windows 7

On my XP machine, I have the connection icon on my desktop so I can enable or disable as needed and would like to rig this up on Windows 7

Anybody know how to do this?

Found a nice utility for this at

It give you the XP style little monitors in the task bar
and you can put a short cut on your Desktop to enable
and disable your internet connection as needed.

Just what I was wanting to do…
