Javascript easing script pushing down navigation

I have my site here. The easing jquery script I implemented for the top navigation seems to be pushing down the category navigation (read navigation area below logo) whenever I hover over it. It seems to be occurring in IE7 and 8 in Windows 7 and XP.

How can I correct this?

Remove the comments from the top of the doctype and try again as that is causing quirks mode in iE.
