Links not working after hosting move

I have moved my wordpress blog from one hosting company to another and using the same domain name.

Since then I find that although the index page is working fine, the links don’t go to the proper pages or posts. I have tried setting the permalinks to default but this doesn’t help.

I don’t know what else to try - any suggestions?

Also when I go to the individual posts and look at the permalink, it is the same as the url that is displayed when I click the link.
