Looking for a special plugin or solution

Does anyone know of a WP plugin that will allow code to be displayed within a post?

I am working on a new membership site where I will be selling source code. In some cases, I will be showing small snippets of code and I would like it to look like it is quoted sort of like in here but in a way that separates it from the post.

I also want the reader to be able to copy and paste it in their environment.

It is straight text so I don’t need anything fancy like colors or line formatting. Just good ole fashion text.

Have you tried the plugin “Display Text”? It hasn’t been kept up-to-date in the past two years, so you would have to go carefully with it, but it might just be what you are looking for.
