Margin-left/floats -- IE6 vs FF

margin-left is being read differently here in IE6 and FF (don’t know about IE7, can’t test IE7 from here…)

it looks when I float an element IE6 adds 100px to margin-left…
(CSS is inside html, for simplicity…)

would appreciate any suggestions…
