Mobile Development Rates - What are you seeing out there?

I’m hearing a few wild stories about the current rates people are getting for mobile contracts out there currently. Whereas PHP developers are getting maybe $50 per hour (USD), most other things are seeing around $70-80 per hour - I hear “normal” rate for IOS currently is around $100-150 per hour for local contractors/freelancers. I’ve even heard of “top” IOS developers in Silicon Valley getting as high as $250 per hour.

Are these numbers accurate?

Depends on how good you are. Majority of PHP developers I know are earning $100 or above. iOS developers a little more due to less of them around (good ones anyway).

There is no set rate for anything digital. You earn as much as your quality and the demand allows. That’s the good thing about a free market economy.
