I am following the instructions for installing PHP for Windows from Kevin’s book. I downloaded 5.4 and the files are not the same anymore as mentioned in the book. There is no php5ts.dll and libmysql.dll How will I proceed?

I don’t know the answer to your specific question, but I can tell you how I installed Apache, Mysql and PHP on my windows machine: http://www.wampserver.com/en/
WAMP, XAMPP, both do the installation for you. If you want to install it yourself, i’d suggest following the instructions in the PHP Manual.
