Sorry if this is all a bit 101, but I’m not really that familiar with RSS.
I’m familiar with the format of an XML file for storing the content of the feeds, but less sure about how to put it all together in terms of what goes where in order for someone to be able to subscribe to a feed.
From a bit of a rummage online it sounds as though RSS typically works well with a blogging platform such as Wordpress or Blogger.
However, I have been asked if I can add an RSS feed to a site which currently uses a standard mySQL database / phpMyAdmin for news stories on the site.
If anyone could point me in the right direction of creating an RSS feed from the existing mySQL database that would be much appreciated.
