Site has gone missing

Hi, hoping someone can offer an opinion.

I have put a lot of time into my site about ‘guitar kits’. I have tried to create good content for the site in this time and looked for quality backlink opportunities. It is a niche site but one I am very interested in having built a few myself: http://www.eguitarkits.com

The keyword I targeted was ‘guitar kits’

At one stage it was ranking well and climbing but all of a sudden it vanished from Google, it is still indexed but ranking 1000+ (a month ago it was 23) At first I thought it was the Google dance but it’s been over a month and I have checked it’s ranking every day. Some of the other pages and category links are ranking in the top 100 but this is next to useless.

I’m just wondering what may have happened and if I should continue on with it if it has been penalized? If it has been penalized it seems strange because in this time it has been given a PR2 when previously it was PR0 as it was only a relatively new site. I have done nothing different as far as backlinking to what I had done from the start when it was climbing nicely also.

Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

How long this site has been submitted? Is it a new site? If it is, the rank your website got in the first place might due to it’s in the “new site presentation period”, most new websites will be given a good rank at the beginning, it’s a encouragement from Google to new website. If it’s not a new website, then you need to check your website’s contents, backlinks and hosting if you are using share hosting.

I guess, the reason for fall in your website’s ranking is penalty, you pages are getting deindexed as well. At present you have only 79 pages in the index.

Do you use Google Webmaster Tools? If not, sign up and see what they say about your site. Is it possible that the site has been hacked? One of mine was hacked the day before I went on holiday, and by the time I spotted it two weeks later, Google had already penalized it. If that’s the case, you just need to clean up the site and ask Google to re-evaluate it.

you need to optimize your website properly , i think huge number of creating backlinks in a short period of time may also results in depleting rank of your website. and also use keywords analysis tools that will help you more.

Hi. Im in the same boat my friend.
I have had my site for 3 years offering specific car accessories in the UK. About 2 weeks ago after being page 1 on many many things . I have simply dropped off the map. I cannot understand this.
When i do a meta-tag check etc, it seems fine. But it looks like its only being referenced in a few places now. Its so confusing and its caused a huge drop in sales. For eg. i have been selling 10 a day, in the last 2 days ive had no sales, before that for the last week 2 a day.

I am now looking for a google seo specialist partner to sort out and look after my website get it back to page 1 and to keep it up there.

When i look through al the google fourums you only get the same standard replies.
Frustrating indeed…
Good luck my friend…

Im on the look out for a Google Specialist so please pm me if you are interested and affordable and i will give you details of the siteso you can take a look
Cheers

I never even experienced it, maybe you need to do now is continue to cultivate your website, and improve the on-page section that may still be lacking.
But I meet a friend at another forum, he got a penalty even his web pages are not indexed. It happened because his competitor create a super-spam website and then give him thousands of spam backlinks to his website. He just realized after check his website with Google Webmaster Tool
It may be hard to say your site penalized, if your web page still get indexed.
Just in my eye, I think title tag on your web site may contain too many characters.

It happened to me; of course not this much deviation. My only suggestion to you is that concentrate on the basics. It would yield results in a while. Just try for a month and inform the result through this thread.
