Someone with Magneto Experience (community ed.)

I’m looking to design a site for a client and was looking into Magneto.

The client doesn’t have a very extensive inventory, around 200 products at the very most, and I wondered if someone with Magneto experience would let me know if the Community Edition would be a suitable solution for this size venture?

Also, if I am competent with (X)HTML, CSS and a little php, will I have any trouble modifying the skin of a Magneto site?

Just looking for some advice from someone who uses the Magneto Community Edition who could give me a perspective on this.

Or if, based on the size of this project, Magneto isn’t the best pick, what would you recommend?

As far I know Magento has free Designer’s Guide web-designers.
They also offer official Magento User Guide which costs $25.

I think that it is better to ask your questions on Magento community forums.

Magento is great if you are an experienced programmer. Dont ever sign up for their support as they as really slow…slow…slow…
