Is a SSL ceertificate required only for e-Commerce sites? I am building a site that does not require credit card, but it does require other information (First name, Last name, School, DOB).
Ideally, you don’t want any personal information being compromised, but an SSL certificate might be overkill for what you are talking about here. I think of it as mainly for credit cards and other personal information that could seriously affect your visitors if it were leaked. Happy to be corrected, though.
