Study lists what frustrates screen reader users (2007)

The good stuff is at Section 5, “Discussion”.

This study was done with mostly higher-educated Windows users (mostly JAWS users and some Window-Eyes) with a median age of 43. They were mostly regular computer users and fairly comfortable with the basics of surfing the web and interacting with web sites and applications.

TL;DR: it’s mostly crappy front-end code.

Very handy link, poes. I’ve not heard a lot from the actual users’ points of view, which is really the test, so this is a good read. Thanks for posting.

The sites seemed rather old-fashioned to me (tables? frames?) but then again, most functional, educational and gov’t sites do seem to live a decade behind the rest of the interwebs…
