Suggestions for a video camera

i’m not rich-so those crazy video cameras that are like 10 thousand i can’t get.

mainly, i need a camera so i can do LIVE streaming on ustream. Also, video editing and youtube stuff is obviously in the mix as well. i DO NOT have an apple pc. i have an HP notebook with no FIREWIRE port so i use a card adapter for the FIREWIRE port. i haven’t even got Windows 7 to recognize my friend’s video camera (Sony HDR-FX7) yet-LOL.

i’m probably going to have to a buy a used video camera. any suggestions on what i should start out with and learn with? video and audio doesn’t have to be the best, but i need something that looks and sounds pro you know? also, the ability to do live streams is a MUST.

any suggestions are very much appreciated

yeah the Canon Vixia HF10 looks real good. what would i have to do to use this with LIVE streaming? i didn’t see any firewire ports on the specs. can you stream live with the Kodak Zi8 (again, i didn’t see any firewire ports for this camera)? i’m still a serious noobie at this (about 4 days in) so any explanations or help is greatly appreciated. live streaming that is!

Havent looked at web cams in ages, but $30 - $50 could get you something decent today.

If you’re looking for something you can take anywhere and shoot good video, I’ve heard good things about eh Kodak Zi8 and at only $150 or so it’s a good deal.

I have a Canon Vixia HF10 that’s a great HD camcorder - about the size of a soda can and records to SDHC cards - outputs AVCHD video so a decently powerful computer to work with the video files is mandatory. Paid just about $600 a year ago but I think they’ve discontinued the model and already come out with a more powerful replacement.

Sony Vegas Movie Studio is a great editing program for under $100 -so you don’t have to spend anywhere near 10k to get a decent setup.
